I bought the A026 some months ago but only now can install it

      I have Windows 7 PC 64 bit.

I have connected A026 via USB to the PC and a dedicated aerial for AIS. I have not connected NMEA

I have installed the driver and now I do not get a message about unrecognised device.

In device manager I can see that the STM is on port 10 and the default bits per second are 9600. I tried changing this to 38400 but it made no difference so have gone back to default.

In the configuration tool for the A026 says open failed

Can anyone tell me where the problem is? I plan to see AIS targets on Open CPN

      Thanks

Thanks for your enquire. As we discussed on the phone, if you close your OpenCPN and the configuration tool and then run configuration tool again. You should not see the problem.

Please bear in mind, in any single time, the serial port can only talk to one application. It cannot talk to multi software at the same time.

      Thanks.

I rebooted the PC and only started the configuration software. It still says open failed at the bottom https://www.dropbox.com/s/8w5523vlse0lbal/Quark1.JPG?dl=0

          SOrted

I went to device manager and uninstalled the receiver

Then I rebooted. THen I went to configuration manager and could now configure the settings

I can now see AIS targets in OpenCPN
