Apologies if the answer is obvious. I don’t have any Raymarine equipment except an auto helm. So my question is whether the Seatalk input can be used as an additional NMEA 0183 input?
      Thanks for help.

To partly answer my own question. I conclude that the Seatalk port on the A031 probably needs a Seatalk signal, which I do not have. All my instruments are NMEA.

I have gone ahead and ordered the A031 Multiplexer any way. I can probably make do with only three ports worst case scenario. And the price is right.

I think a converter from NMEA 0183 to Seatalk would allow me to use the Seatalk port. And such a converter may be so expensive as to make the whole thing not worth while. It also seems a bit ridiculous to go from NMEA 0183 to Seatalk back to NMEA 0183.

Happy to hear any suggestions or ideas. I’ll report how well I get on once the ice melts here in Canada.

        Cheers,

        Alan

Thanks for your information. Unfortunately, QK-A031 only convert SEATALK1 messages to NMEA 0183 not the other way.
