Our R&D department have been working really hard this year to meet the increasing demands from our customers. After launching the A027+, the AIS+GPS receiver, and the AS00 and AS01 mini NMEA 0183 to/from NMEA 2000 gateways earlier this year. Now we are proud to introduce our first product for internet solutions on board, a marine wireless 4G router, the QK-R041.
The R041 provides a reliable and secure internet connection away from the coast (for up to 22 miles), through WiFi and Ethernet to a variety of on-board devices (e.g., laptops, tablets, smartphones and IoT devices) via the available 4G LTE and 3G UMTS networks.
The two MIMO 4G diversity antennas offer excellent mobile network reception, whereas the two omni-WiFi antennas ensure reliable WiFi connection on board. This marine 4G router features four Ethernet ports, one serial port, two digital inputs and two digital outputs and WiFi connectivity.
The serial port supports multiple protocols including NMEA 0183 data transfer, which allows the connection of a NMEA 0183 talker device to the router (multiple NMEA 0183 talker devices can also be connected to the router by using a NMEA 0183 multiplexer) or the remote monitoring of the vessel.
Two digital outputs can be used for switching external digital levels (e.g alarms, relays, heaters) from the router, while the two digital inputs can accept external digital level (e.g sensors, relays) to the Router.
The R041 is a Plug & play device with its default settings, only requires a 12VDC power supply and a SIM card with an active data package to offer access to the internet. All this makes the system particularly easy to install.
