Our main objective was to design and create an accurate, reliable, affordable, and robust wind sensor for the market. After around 9 months of design work, prototyping and extensive field testing we are proud to introduce our newest product, the QK-AS06.
The unit features a dustproof and waterproof enclosure with IP66 rating, which protects the sensors from even the harshest weather conditions. It is maintenance free thanks to its rugged enclosure, quality ceramic bearings and non-contact sensors.
The rotating cup anemometer is capable of highly accurate wind speed measurement from 0 to 107 knots. This is combined with a 360° wind direction sensor for relative wind direction measurement.
Our new wind sensor can be connected to NMEA 0183 devices (e.g., multiplexers, chart plotters, etc.), to an NMEA 2000 backbone (AS01 NMEA 2000 mini gateway required, not included), or to a laptop / computer using the supplied serial to USB adapter. The output data is in NMEA 0183 MWV sentence format and has an update rate of 1Hz (one update per second).
The wind sensor comes pre-calibrated and pre-configured, with either 20m or 30m cable and mounting hardware which ensures easy installation and a quick setup.
