Our main objective was to create a mini gateway as requested by our customers, which can be easily installed in tight spaces, e.g., behind instrument panels.
This tiny NMEA 0183 to NMEA 2000 gateway is compatible with most NMEA 0183 talker devices, including marine AIS and GPS receivers, heading sensors, depth sensors, wind sensors and multiplexers. It also supports the conversion of the majority of NMEA 0183 sentences into NMEA 2000 PGNs. One of the AS01’s main features is that it can detect and adjust the NMEA 0183 input baud rate automatically, making the installation process quick, simple, and easy for any boat owner. The NMEA 0183 talker device and the 12V DC power supply can be easily connected to the AS01 through its screw terminal block, and the AS01 can be connected to an NMEA 2000 network (powered NMEA 2000 backbone with two terminators) via the pre-fitted 1-meter NMEA 2000 cable. The AS01 features galvanic opto-isolation on its NMEA 2000 connection, which ensures data is transferred safely from the NMEA 0183 talker device to the NMEA 2000 network.
For the boat owners who are looking for an NMEA 2000 to NMEA 0183 mini gateway, the QK-AS00 is going to be released next month. It is also recommended for marine electronics engineers or technicians and offers direct access to a boat’s NMEA 2000 network for testing or investigative work. Please stay tuned…
