We have now tested a couple of new apps that work well with our AIS receivers and thought we would share that with you. Among the apps that are available, iRegatta, iSailor, Watcheye AIS, iAIS and Imray Charts, Imray Instruments have all tested out well.
If you have a favourite that you are using with our hardware please share it here, we would love to hear from you
Kit10/04/2017 at 12:05 pm #13824AnonymousHi
We have used SeaNav http://seanav.net on iPad and iPhone successfully with the Quark. We have also used it with Boat Beacon http://boatbeaconapp.com on iOS and Android.
22/04/2018 at 10:18 am #13826AnonymousHi, I recently installed an a024 and am gradually getting all functions working ok
Have also recently updated my Imray Charts app to their new app Imray Navigator. I have a question:
In the Navigator Preferences there is a NMEA settings section which includes “NMEA source” along with the TCP address and port (as expected). As your manual doesn’t mention NMEA source I’ve simply entered “iAis” but wondered if it should be iMux or something. Please confirm.
Many thanks
Mike
23/04/2018 at 11:09 am #13825Sorry we don’t have the latest Imray version with us. I believe the ip address and port number are critical value need to be set correctly. 23/04/2018 at 8:24 pm #13827AnonymousMany thanks, to be honest the wifi side of things seems to work ok apart from a problem with not being able to get ais and gps data to display together but I’m sure this is not an a024 issue. My main issue is NMEA which I’ve asked a seperate question about.
04/05/2018 at 8:27 am #13828AnonymousHI, Some test with InavX, someone has it installed with the A027? 31/12/2018 at 10:02 am #13829Hello I can confirm that Inavx works with the QK-A027 using an Apple IOS device via WiFi. The Android version of Inavx doesn’t have the WiFi feature unfortunately.
With an IPhone go to the instruments tab in settings and click TCP. Then using our information in the manuals you can enter the details and connect to our unit. This is the same for all of our wireless units
I hope this helps
Best regards
10/02/2019 at 10:52 am #13830AnonymousHi I have just got the QK-A024
i want to use it on my ipad 2 with 9-3-5- with cellular “GPS”
i have garmin Blue charts and understand AIS will not work on them, so i am thinking of downloading the “IAIS app”
just because they now have Navionic charts on them “needs ios 9 or above so i am fine their”
as far as i know the IAIS app is free, Navionic charts are €40 for a year and can be downloaded so can be used offline, their might be a €10 fee to get the charts onto IAIS,
My question before i pay for the charts, will my QK-A024 work in this set up ????
CHEERS T.J.
11/02/2019 at 10:24 am #13831Hello T.J. Unfortunately “iAIS” will only connect via WiFi to Digital yacht WiFi receiver.
https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/iais/id394667307?mt=8https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/iais/id394667307?mt=8” class=”bbcode_url”> We would recommend ”OpenCPN” and ”NavShip” as good reliable chart APPs for mobile devices. Please let us know if you find another APP that is more suitable as I’m sure other users on the forum would love to know because Navionics are very popular charts.
Best regards
